What Makes Belle Meade Unique
A Pocket Neighborhood
A pocket neighborhood is clusters of houses with common spaces surrounding each cluster. Pocket neighborhoods are smaller neighborhoods within a community encouraging homeowners to know their neighbors. At Belle Meade, each cluster is designed with five houses facing five houses with green space in between.
55+ Community
At Belle Meade at least one resident must be 55 years or better and a limited number of residents may be younger. Homeowners own both their lot and home and as members of The Belle Meade Condominium Association, they share ownership of common amenities. As a 55 and older community, we abide by the Fair Housing Act guidelines.
Custom Homes
Custom choices include cottage size, design, finishes, and colors that fall within the Belle Meade architectural guidelines. Homeowners are encouraged to consider a variety of colors when selecting the exterior color of their homes. While whites and greys are classic choices, you may customize your home with colors that appeal to your personal taste.

Amenities & Lifestyle
Belle Meade is an active community with opportunities for homeowners to participate in the care of the community’s amenities.
Residents might decide to construct a gazebo or fire pit in their common green space, plant a shared vegetable garden, or gather at the clubhouse for a yoga class, book club meeting, or potluck dinner.


Neighborhood Walkability
Belle Meade has walkability. A private enclave surrounded by tall evergreens, Belle Meade is connected to Texas Corners with walkability to local businesses, restaurants, and nearby parks and trails. In fact, cottages are located within a half-mile of several restaurants, a bakery, farmer’s market, veterinarian, salon, hardware store, healthcare, and other businesses and specialty shops.

Our Story
In 2012, Dave and Shari Groendyk began researching the idea of building a pocket neighborhood on 10 acres of land they owned in Texas Township. As part of their research, they visited several pocket neighborhood communities.
Belle Meade began taking shape when the Groendyks and five other local investors entered into a joint venture to begin the journey of developing Belle Meade Cottage Living.
